About this park

Sails Holiday Park is located in the heart of Belmont, a coastal suburb of the Lake Macquarie region in NSW, just a 90-minute drive north of Sydney.

Choose from cabin accommodation or bring a caravan or motorhome and enjoy our spacious powered sites. Onsite facilities include a swimming pool, BBQ area and camp kitchen.

A short walk takes you to the lake foreshore and local cafes where you can grab a coffee and enjoy the view. The Belmont CBD is nearby with supermarkets and services, shops, cafes, clubs and pubs.

With excellent access to nearby areas, including Newcastle and the Hunter Valley wine region, base yourself at Sails Holiday Park and explore all our region offers.

FAQs about Sails Holiday Park in Lake Macquarie

Are you dog-friendly?

Sails Holiday Park is dog friendly all year round, including school holidays. We also have a dog-friendly cabin, tourist sites and dog wash onsite.

What time is check-in?

The check-in time for caravan and camping sites is 11am, and 2pm for villas and cabins. If you plan to arrive after hours, please let us know so we can have all relevant documents waiting for your arrival.

What time is checkout?

Check-out time is 10am.

Is there a dump point?

Yes.

Where are the nearest shops?

The main shopping precinct is located at Belmont, five minutes from the Sails Holiday Park. Major supermarkets (Woolworths, Coles and Aldi) and other specialty stores, cafes and fast food restaurants are all in close proximity.

Are there any restaurants or cafes nearby?

There are so many options for coffee, cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs, all within a short drive of our Sails Caravan Park in Lake Macquarie. Check out our full dining guide.

Do you accommodate large caravans and motorhomes?

We have sites that can accommodate most caravans and motorhomes. It’s always best to confirm your size requirements when booking. You can enter this information when booking online or contact our team by phone or email to discuss.

How much are the washing machines and dryers, and do I need coins?

Washing machines and dryers are $5 per load. For your convenience we have tap and go payment facilities available or you can also pay by coin.

Do you have a minimum stay?

Some weekends and holiday periods do have minimum stays. Our online booking system will indicate if there is a minimum stay when you enter your dates.

What are the reception hours?

Our reception office is open seven days a week during these times:

May to August 8.30am – 5pm

September to April 8.30am – 6pm

Can we have campfires?

Open fires are not permitted at Sails Holiday Park. Barbecues are located around the park for your use.

Do you have BBQ facilities, and is there a charge to use them?

Yes, we have plenty of free BBQ facilities within the park.

Do you have a camp kitchen, and what facilities does it have?

Yes, there is a camp kitchen with the following facilities:

Can my kids ride their bikes or scooters?

Definitely! Bikes and scooters are allowed in daylight hours; just be sure to wear a helmet, follow road rules and don’t use them in or around amenities, camp kitchens, pathways or recreation rooms. We do not permit motorised equipment, E Scooters segways or drones.

What are your rates?

You can view rates by entering your stay dates in our online booking system.

Do you have wifi?

Yes, we offer free wifi to all of our guests. The code will be provided at check-in.

Is there a shop onsite?

Basic supplies are available at reception (cold drinks, ice creams, lollies, basic supplies).

What is your cancellation policy?

You can view our cancellation policy here.

What if I need assistance after hours?

Our after-hours security team is available at 0409 222 410.

Can I have a late checkout?

The standard check-out time is 10am. If you need a late check-out, please speak with Reception Staff to confirm availability and any applicable fees.

How far is it to the nearest beach?

Blacksmiths Beach (10-minute drive)

Redhead Beach (10-minute drive)

Day Visitors

Guests staying at the park are welcome to have day visitors. A day visitor fee applies: $15 per adult and $8 per child.

Please note: During peak periods, day visitors are permitted at the discretion of Park Management.

Linen Hire

Additional linen hire is available on request. Cost per bed is $25 Queen and $20 Single.

What a little gem of a caravan park. Great location, facilities spotless, large caravan site, best shower I have had all trip. If it was warmer I would have jumped in the pool. Highly recommend this place.

Our second and not last visit here. If the rooms are anything like everything where they would be top notch, we had our van. Amenities are clean and warm showers, well maintained..grounds are very well kept. Staff are friendly and helpful. Will be back for another quite weekend or mid week visit

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the Safari Tents for 2 nights recently. The tents are great, air con in 2 rooms, makes it nice and cosy. The furniture and fittings are great, the bathroom is wonderful. Service from reception was warm and friendly. A lovely tidy holiday park too. We would definitely stay again.

We spent the weekend at Sails Holiday Park with a big group of family (there were loads of us!) and had such a great time. The location is fantastic – close to shops and everything you need. The park is really well maintained, and we had a mix of cabins and caravan sites which worked perfectly for our group. The cabins are modern, clean and very well looked after, and the pool was a big hit with everyone. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even better. We loved it so much that we’ve already rebooked for our next family getaway!

We had a premium powered site for the weekend and the park grounds, and amenities were immaculately clean. Soo nice and quiet. Great facilities and easy access to cafes, supermarkets etc nearby. Big sites, nice pool and all you could need in a park.

Very nice park. Lovely caravan spots, some concrete pad, some drive thru. Limited shade. Nice location. Reception staff lovely. Can be a bit pricey in school holidays.

Brilliant lil park. Good size sites, well kept, friendly staff. Nice locale too. Easy walk to everything. Close to the water and a club. Only problem is the greed of the lease holders. In 6 months the price rose basically every week. Over $100 bucks since my first weekly stop. Yeah, nah.

We stayed at this caravan park for two nights and it was absolutely awesome. The park is very well thought out, immaculately clean, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The amenities were spotless, the sites were large and spacious, and there were plenty of shady areas throughout the park. Waking up to birds chirping in the morning was just beautiful, and the park itself was incredibly quiet and peaceful. The location is perfect close to the lake and only minutes from nearby shopping centres and restaurants, which made everything so convenient. We’ve travelled around quite a bit and can honestly say this is one of the best parks we’ve stayed at. We’re down in Newcastle nearly every month, and after staying here, this will definitely be our go to park from now on. We used to stay at the park on the other side of Newcastle, but we won’t be going back. There’s honestly not one thing we can fault — it was just perfect. A hidden gem! Highly recommend.

This park is a hidden gem which we lucky enough to find. The amenities are some of the best we have seen and it is in walking distance to so much in the area. It is clean, quiet and the staff were wonderful.

I like the park it's close to the river. We had a premium site large plenty of room. The park is well maintained and the staff are friendly. The amenities are clean with large showers with a good hot flow. The camp kitchen is lovely as is the BBQ area with tables and shelter. There's a small pool although a family with a couple of kids staying in the cabins used the pool letting their kids in the water with no nappies even though they were both in nappies. That was a little off putting.

Fantastic park! Very well laid out, lots of thought has gone into the planning. Premium sites were double slab with a concrete drive long enough for you to park out the front. Amenities were spotless, up there with the cleanest we've seen. It looks a bit poky from the street but once inside it was fine. We'll definitely stay there again.

Not long ago we limped(our car was experiencing transmission problems) into this wonderful caravan park. The rain was pouring down, we had not been able to get into another park (because of flooding) but at reception Sue and Colin opened their hearts to us and found a spot in the park (which ended up being nearly 2 weeks) until our car was back on the road. Needless to say it was a beautiful place to stay, close to the shops (10-15mins to Woolies and Coles) beautiful scenic spots and walks with a great club called "Belmont 16s sailing club" nearby which provided amazing views of Lake Macquarie,delicious meals and entertainment. The park facilities (toilets, showers,pool, laundry,lawns BBQ area and community kitchen were kept spotless..the caravan sites were quite large on lawn or concrete...a lovely place to stay..can thoroughly recommend it!And Sue's comment,"we like to treat people as we'd like to be treated" sums up our experience perfectly!..
