Pet Policy
Lake Macquarie’s natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere make it an ideal destination for holidays with pets. With expansive lakefronts, dog friendly beaches, and numerous walking tracks, your pet will have plenty of opportunities to stretch their legs and explore.
Dogs are welcome all year round at our pet-friendly Lake Mac Holiday Parks— Belmont Lakeside Holiday Park, Blacksmiths Beachside Holiday Park, and Sails Holiday Park—so your furry friends can enjoy the holiday too.
Please note the following rules which are designed to ensure that all visitors, with or without pets, enjoy a safe and relaxing stay at our park.
- No pet is allowed in the park without Management’s consent. Management reserves the right to refuse pet entry to the park for any reason.
- A maximum of 2 dogs are permitted per approved site or cabin.
- Dogs are permitted on tourist sites or in the parks’ designated Dog Friendly Cabins. They are not permitted in holiday van sites or other tourist cabins.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash under your effective control while in the park.
- Pets are not to be left unattended under any circumstances.
- You are responsible for ensuring your pet’s vaccinations are up to date.
- Dogs which are subject to any dangerous dog or menacing dog declaration or control order are not permitted.
- Guests shall be responsible for any damage or injury caused by the dog/s and shall be liable for any costs incurred as a result of damage or injury.
- In accordance with the Companion Animals Act 1998 you are responsible for ensuring:
- Your dog wears a collar and tag
- Your dog is registered
- Animal wastes are promptly and appropriately disposed of by picking up, wrapping and sealing the waste in a plastic bag and disposing of it in the bins provided throughout the park,
- Your dog does not cause a nuisance or distress to other park users,
- Your dog does not rush at, attack, bite, harass or chase another animal or any person;
- Your dog is not permitted within 10 metres of the park’s communal facilities such as the rec room, camp kitchen, amenities or pool.
Please Note: Management reserves the right to terminate the guest’s occupancy due to any breach of the above.
