Fishing spots
The Drop Over and Pulbah Island
You’ll need a boat to get to these two angling hot-spots, whose deep waters are a haven for many species of fish. The Drop Over can be accessed from Village Bay Close in Marks Point and is known for flathead, bream, whiting, jewfish, tailor, kingfish and prawns. Pulbah Island is accessible from Dobell Park, Dobell Drive, Wangi Wangi and is a great spot to catch bream and tailor.
Pelican Foreshore
Pelican Foreshore is the perfect place, not only to cast your line but also to enjoy a picnic with the family. BBQ facilities and playgrounds will keep everyone happy, even if the fish aren’t biting.
Belmont Bay
Local fishos frequent Belmont Bay for quality bream, flathead, snapper and mulloway, with the pier and boardwalk popular spots for land-based pursuits.
Swansea Channel
Swansea Channel’s tidal current and proximity to the open ocean attract a wide variety of fish species, including larger specimens rarely found further into the lake. Large schools of Australian salmon can be found during the cooler months, while yellowtail kingfish are a prized catch for anglers trying their luck near Swansea Bridge.
